Yellowstone Assay & Metals was founded on a straightforward premise: most people who come to us with precious metals don't know what they have — and they deserve to find out before anyone asks them to make a decision.
What we believe
Precious metals are often inherited, accumulated over decades, or acquired without documentation. They arrive in shoeboxes, safe deposit boxes, estate lots, and storage units. They are frequently misidentified, undervalued, or assumed to be more — or less — than they are.
We exist to bring clarity to that uncertainty. Not to buy, not to sell, not to advise on investment strategy — but to help you understand what you have, what it is worth, and what your options are.
That clarity is the foundation of every good decision that follows.
How we work
No conflict of interest
When we buy metals, we earn on the spread — that is how the business works, and we are transparent about it. What we do not do is steer your assessment, inflate or deflate a valuation, or push a transaction. Our job is to tell you accurately what you have. What you do with that information is yours to decide.
No investment advice
We are not financial advisors. We do not tell you whether to hold, sell, or buy. We tell you what you have — and leave the decisions to you and your advisors.
No pressure
A Metals Review is a structured, unhurried session. There is no sales process attached to it. You leave with information, not an obligation.
Professional discretion
We work with estate attorneys, CPAs, wealth advisors, and family offices. We understand that metals matters are often sensitive, and we treat them accordingly.
Stewardship, not salesmanship
The word we return to most often is stewardship. Precious metals have a way of carrying history — family history, financial history, the accumulated decisions of people who are no longer here to explain them. We take that seriously.
